Hypnotherapy could help you learn to forget about that noise. Hyperacusis need bother you no more.
Hello
Are you suffering from an intolerance of everyday sounds? Does the sound of the neighbours drive you mad? Are you driven insane by the sound of people chewing their food, the noise of a hoover, the ringing of church bells or dogs barking? Do such noises cause physical pain, either at the time of a day or so later?
If so then it’s possible that you suffer from hyperacusis – an extraordinary sensitivity to sounds which other people will often fail to even notice.
I use hypnotherapy in Reading, Oxford, London, Thame and Wallingford for hyperacusis to help people like you to become desensitised to these noises. I could also see you over zoom or whatsapp if this is easier for you.
I’ve used hypnotherapy to help people to simply get on with their lives, in order that they can stop focusing so heavily on these sounds, in order that their brains can simply begin to habituate to the sounds which once threatened to drive them mad.
You don’t have to live the rest of your life suffering from this condition. Hypnotherapy, combined with other approaches, could help you to be free from the problem, for good.
Read on to learn how I could help you to be free of this problem, once and for all.
Get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
How?
I help them to lose the anger, anxiety, pain and distress at the appearance of such sounds. If you live in or around London, Reading, Oxford, Thame or Wallingford then hypnotherapy could help you too.
Please make sure that you’ve consulted your GP before calling for hypnotherapy. They’ll run a few tests just to confirm that there’s nothing physically wrong with your ears. Assuming there isn’t then it’s all a matter of adjusting your psychological responses to those sounds which bother you. I can help you with that.
The following story has had pertinent details changed so as to preserve confidentiality. However, the gist of it remains true.
I have just seen a man who developed hyperacusis after an accident. The sensitivity to noise became so great that he withdrew from social functions and from life in general.
In our second session he described how the approaches we worked upon had reduced his sensitivity by at least 50%. Fifty percent in one session! That’s not bad going at all! If you’d like to experience the same lessening of symptoms then please do get in touch. Id be more that glad to help you.
What are the causes of hyperacusis?
Hyperacusis can be caused by a number of issues. Sometimes post-head injury syndrome can cause the problem, as can Bells Palsy, Migraines, Williams’ Syndrome and Lyme Disease.
Sometimes stress can co-incide with the arrival of a certain noise and the two become inextricably linked.
Sometimes people with asperger’s or high-functionisg autism can suffer such sensory issues too.
Whatever the cause may be, you’ve become over-sensitive to certain noises and you’ll need to learn how to respond differently in order to escape the problem and restore your life to normality. When you reduce your emotional responses to the sounds and to any pain which they cause, your brain learns, over time, to cease bringing the sounds to your attention quite so much. Over time you become habituated to the sounds so that you might not even consciously hear them at all.
I once worked with a lady who had badly hurt her head in a sporting accident. Her head injury brought on the condition she came to identify as being hyperacusis.
Through our work together she came to see that the sound which had once bothered her no longer had to trouble her.
Hyperacusis is not something you have to suffer forever. It is a condition, a problem. It can and will be overcome.
Hypnotherapy can help you to achieve the same goal. It has done so for others and there’s no reason why you couldn’t do it too.
How can hypnotherapy help you to habituate to the sounds associated with hyperacusis?
Coming to terms with hyperacusis is akin to coming to terms with tinnitus. The more you become stressed at the sound, the more you focus upon it, the more you begin to fear its appearance the worse it will become.
I help people to observe the sounds impartially so that the stress response fades. I help them to resolve any underlying anxieties. I help them to focus upon other, more pleasant, stimuli so that the offending sound begins to fade from awareness.
I’ve used hypnotherapy in London, Reading, Oxford, Wallingford and Thame to help people become better at managing their response to this noise. If you’re fed up with noises which cause you stress then please do consider getting in touch. I’d be glad to talk with you.
You can get your life back
I could help you to be able to go to bed without straining your ears to listen for the kids next door. I could help you to enjoy your garden without worrying about whether or not the neighbours’ dog will begin howling. I could help you to enjoy life once more.
Other people have managed to leave their hyperacusis behind them. You can too.
